Chicago River, Illinois

It’s wild but it has taken me 30+ years to finally get myself over to Chicago for a visit. The catalyst for the trip was Ruido Fest, a Latin Alternative Music Festival that we were excited to attend, but it ended up being much more than that. We stayed at Swissotel—had panoramic views of the river and city, drank rose along the water, had dinner at Cira (so good), enjoyed a stroll around the Buckingham Fountain, and walked through ALL the beautiful parks in the city. Chicago is truly a magical city to visit in the summer and we had the best time.

We did the architectural boat tour which was touristy and fantastic! I really can’t wait to go visit again. Not sure how I didn’t know this before, but it is one of the prettiest cities I have been to in a while.
