THE PERFECT HOLIDAY DRESS

Kennebunkport, ME

IMG_0392.jpg

If you’re like me and you don’t have any holiday travel or party plans but you still want to throw on something you feel pretty in, this is your dress. It has a long sleeve sweater knit top and a gorgeous flowy skirt that will make you feel fancy even if you decide to pair it with sneakers (or slippers). It’s stretchy and comfortable, yet it still made me feel quite glam. It’s a great option for holiday photos, or if you’re just getting dressed up with family at home. I rounded up a few more pretty holiday dress options from Chicwish (on sale now) at the bottom of this post!

I wore it this past weekend to Kennebunkport, ME with Edgar. Since the pandemic started, we’ve tried to take day trips to explore new spots both here and in California as a way to get outside (while still being safe). We drove along the coast, stumbled past this pretty little lighthouse, and walked through the charming downtown area. It’s so lovely!

Winter dresses I love By chicwish

'TIS THE SEASON FOR SWEATER DRESSES

Newburyport, MA

IMG_8789.jpg

I love the coziness of oversized sweaters and I've quickly begun to appreciate them more than ever living here in New England. I suppose that's why I am such a fan of throw-on sweater dresses which make for great one-and-done outfits. And there are so many options to choose from—puffy sleeves, maxi styles, tie-waists, fitted, oversized, turtlenecks, and so much more!

The holidays are looking a lot more casual for all of us this year but we still want to look festive and feel our best. That's why I think investing in a couple of sweater dresses that are comfy, yet flattering and cute are a great idea for Thanksgiving and Christmas! I have linked this one from Amazon and a bunch more affordable styles I love at the end of this post.

SHORT SLEEVE STAPLE SWEATERS

Newburyport, MA

IMG_8993.jpg

When it comes to switching out your fall closet into winter, it's all about finding great transitional pieces—cue the short sleeve sweater. It is genius! If you live in a warmer climate (like I used to) or if you're spending most of your days working inside your home this winter, it is the perfect alternative to a bulky sweater. This gorgeous pink short sleeve sweater from Repeat Cashmere  is one you can throw on for any season. I love the refreshing blush hue and it works just as well tucked into skinnies as it does with a midi skirt for the holidays or work trousers.

And yes, I understand that cashmere has the reputation of being high-end and expensive, but the quality is definitely worth the investment. I continue to wear all of my beautiful Repeat Cashmere sweaters (see another post I shared here) and it keeps me warmer than some other bulkier options made with different materials. They have lots of beautiful cashmere short-sleeve sweaters to choose from so if you haven't already added one to your wardrobe, check them out.
