FABLETICS FOR THE WIN

Manhattan Beach, CA

I have been partnering with Fabletics for the past few months to try out new styles and up my activewear game. Not only have I been more excited about working out lately, but all of their clothes are designed with functionality in mind, making it a lot easier to run while listening to music, podcasts, and more.

First things first…their leggings have great pockets and places to store keys, credit cards, and of course, your phone. I may be WAY behind the game on that, so forgive me, but up until now, I haven’t really had workout gear with hidden pockets. Alas! Fabletics has all kinds of tricky ways to keep your essentials close and I now favor all my leggings with pockets because it just makes life SO MUCH EASIER (something we could all use right now).

Another thing I love about my gear is the breathability of all their clothing. This flyaway back top, for example, is a welcomed addition to my sweaty outdoor workouts and I love that it still provides coverage over just wearing a bra or crop top!

Finally, I love how much this brand plays around with colors and silhouettes. From bold and splashy summer shades to fun patterns, I really like that their workout clothes standout from the generic, plain styles I had always traditionally associated activewear with. And when it comes to silhouettes, they have so many trendy pieces like one-shoulder tops also, lots of different flattering fits for all body types!

If you haven’t already, try out Fabletics and get 2 leggings for $24 when you sign up for their VIP membership!

TRENDS TO HELP YOU TRANSITION INTO FALL

Newburyport, MA

This time of year has always been a little tricky for me because it’s still hot outside (August is arguably the hottest month of the year) and yet, all my favorite fashion brands are in full-on fall mode. I’ve been gravitating towards adding jackets and booties to my online shopping cart and yet, it was almost 95 degrees outside the other day when I took these photos…not exactly sweater weather! My mum and I went out to pick up sandwiches at this little spot in Newburyport (the day we took these photos) and we were both sweating just by walking from the car to the shop.

So what am I wearing and shopping for right now? Transitional pieces. I am talking about all those items that you’ll be able to take from summer to fall (and beyond). And the number one thing I would recommend? Flowy dresses. They’re easy to wear bare-legged or with tights and in neutral colors/prints that work for any season.

This leopard printed number from Leela Lavender checks all the boxes. It is lightweight and flowy enough for warm days and works well with layers like a leather jacket or a cardigan. Take 15% anything you love at Leela Lavender with the code: KELLY15.

Some other transitional pieces to stock up on? Tops that make layering easy, jumpsuits that pair well with denim jackets and booties, lightweight jackets, and trousers.

FIND YOUR HAPPY

Newburyport, MA

More than ever, I need outlets to stay positive these days. It has undoubtedly been a challenging time for everyone and with more isolation and division in this country than I can ever remember, it is easy to get down. That being said, I realized that no matter how rough it gets, we will never get this time back. That is why I have decided to spend my summer back home in New England with my family. I have felt so lucky to have this time with them and so as hard as it can be, I am trying to remember that our time is precious and we need to go towards things that make us happy.

I wore this floral maxi dress from Vagamundo to lunch with my Mum the other day and it gave me so much LIFE! It is a beautiful blend of boho and classic style. It is also by far and away the most fun dress to twirl and dance in. A dress that is super comfy, yet really easy to dress up, too? I’ll take a few more! (It actually does come in a few more colors). And right now, you can take 15% off your entire Vagamundo purchase using code: KELLY15. Enjoy!

Here are some other things that are helping me (at least a little) stay positive right now:

  • Surround yourself with positive people that love you. If someone doesn’t make you feel happy, don’t spend your time with them. Find your people (even if it is just one or two right now) and keep them close.

  • Pick up a new hobby and commit to having one thing to show from it. Whether it is running )(for me!) and sharing your daily mile count with a friend, or learning to cook and making a meal for someone, using the extra time to pursue a new hobby can feel really rewarding.

  • Get active about the things you care about. With so many injustices going on in the world, it is important to find a way to get involved, even if it is simply sending out emails or donating to a cause. It will help you feel less helpless.

  • Play great music throughout the day. You’ll be surprised how much this can help boost your mood.

  • Get outside (with a mask)! Back in LA, I found myself feeling really sad inside my apartment all day so eventually, I forced myself to go on walks around the neighborhood 2-3 times a day. It really helped!

  • Do one kind thing every day. This can be sending an email or a message at work to let someone know you appreciate their help or letting a stranger go ahead of you at the grocery store. No matter how small it is, it will help you feel more positive.
